چکیده
Bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) is an RNA belonging to Pestivirus in the family Flaviviridae. BVDV has economic significance for livestock industry because of its association with acute disease, fetal loss, and birth persistently infected (PI) animals. This study aimed investigate infection rates Korean native cattle farms Jeju further planning a control program Province. antibodies antigens were tested 15,842 sera collected from 302 herds between January 2014 June 2017 using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Viral antigen was detected by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction 60 that ELISA-positive. found 90.7% (274/302) 61.1% (9,678/15,842) cows. 13.2% (40/302) 0.4% (61/15,842) The oldest animal group (> 8 years) exhibited highest sero-positive (91%), while youngest (< 1 had positivity (0.52%). Of antigen-positive sera, types 2 36 12 respectively. Additionally, six animals considered be PI as continually annual examination.

Comparative prevalence of Bovine Viral Diarrhea Virus antibodies among native and imported cattle in north of Sistan and Baluchistan- Iran
Background and Aims: Sistan is a major pole in dairy production and genetic resource for the unique sistanian breed in the southeast of Iran. This region has a wide border with Afghanistan and cattle imports are done through this border. The main aim of this study was to compare the seroprevalence of Bovine Viral Diarrhea Virus (BVDV) infection rate using direct Enzyme-linked ...
متن کاملPersistent bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) infection in cattle herds
Bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) is a significant pathogen associated with gastrointestinal, respiratory, and reproductive diseases of cattle worldwide. It causes continuous economic losses to the cattle industry primarily due to decreased reproductive performance. The ability of virus to cross the placenta during early pregnancy can result in the birth of persistently infected (PI) calves. P...
متن کاملThe first study of bovine immunodeficiency virus (BIV) and bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) co- infection in industrial herds of cattle in two provinces of Iran
BIV is a well-known bovine immunosup-pressive cause, but its pathogenesis has not been well characterized. It seems that it is possible that cofactors such as co- infection with other bovine viral pathogens may play a role in enhancing the pathogenesis of BIV infection; BVDV also has immunosuppressive effects. OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was determination of possible correlation between BI...
متن کاملDetection of Bovine Viral Diarrhea Virus in Bovine Semen Using Nested-PCR
A rapid and sensitive reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and nested-PCR were used to detect bovine viral diarrhea virus 1 (BVDV-1) in bull semen. Selected primers could amplify a part of the 5´UTR of the BVDV genome. A 294 bp DNA fragment was amplified and specificity of the results was confirmed by direct sequencing of the PCR product. Prior to RNA extraction, the seminal...
متن کاملThe prevalence of bovine viral diarrhea virus in persistently infected cows in industrial dairy herds in suburb of Mashhad- Iran
Bovine Viral Diarrhea Virus (BVDV) is a Pestivirus of the Flaviviviridaefamily that infects cattle, and its widespread distribution can cause substantial economic losses worldwide. The aims of this study were: (1) to estimate the prevalence of animals persistently infected (PI) with BVDV in industrial dairy cattle herds in suburb of Mashhad- Iran; and (2) to compare the occurrence of persistent...
